This is a solid place for some Mexican food in Safford. I find myself visiting Los Jilbertos a few times a week when working at the Morenci Mine. So far I've had a few of their breakfast burritos and their tortas. The breakfast burritos are so big that they're often a breakfast/lunch burrito. Can't go wrong with a carne asada or carnitas burrito.
The torta is a traditional Mexican sandwich in a soft loaf of bread (similar consistency to Hawaiian bread). These are an amazing dinner... Again, can't go wrong with a carne asada or carnitas torta. The bread is lightly toasted making the sandwich a great combination of textures and flavors.
Keep in mind, they are CASH ONLY. Also, their full menu is available 24/7. -

Typical berto brothers type food. Had a chorizo burro and a carne Asada burro.
Both tasted fresh and they hooked us up with some salsas. Salsas were on the weak side. Would have liked more heat.
The burros weren't as big as most berto brothers get down with.
Price was also kind of high for the cuisine and portions. -

Great food, very expensive for being fast food and basic portions. Used to be gigantic portions but now just regular. Customer service always is the best in safford.

I've never had an issue with food from "Bertos". It's always been tasty and the portions are large. It's also open 24 hours, so that's definitely a plus! It's a good choice for late night hunger. Fair warning: they only take cash!

Great fast Mexican food! Their "rolled tacos" are really good! I enjoyed their horchata and pickled carrots. The "super fries" are okay.
